Week 1, July 8th - 12th, Cinderella: A long ago in a faraway kingdom, Cinderella’s wicked Stepmother and Stepsisters force her into being a servant in her own house. With the help of her tiny mouse friends and her Fairy Godmother, Cinderella attends the Ball and catches the attention of Prince Charming. This classic story reminds us all that dreams can come true with a little faith, trust and pixie dust!
Week 2, July 15th - 19th, Peter Pan: Come fly with us! Peter Pan is the story of a young boy who befriends Wendy, John and Michael Darling by taking them to “Neverland,” a fantastical universe full of mermaids, alligators and pirates. With the help of the Lost Boys and Princess Tiger Lily, they must overthrow the notorious Captain hook so the Darling’s can make it home before morning.
Week 3, July 22nd - 26th, Shrek: Once upon a swamp, lived an ogre named Shrek. One morning he wakes up to find his precious solitude shattered by an invasion of misfit fairytale creatures who were banished by the evil Lord Farquaad. Determined to save his swamp, Shrek heads out for an adventure of a lifetime. We cannot wait to bring this hilarious story of love and belonging to life in just 5 days!
MEET YOUR INSTRUCTORS:
Claire Imrie has been teaching at camp for 10 years and is looking forward to another summer! She is a certified High School Drama Teacher and Arts Department Head in Muskoka where she has directed multiple school musicals and improv teams. Claire is the current co-head of Performing Arts at Trillium Lakeland’s Arts Camp (TLAC). Claire has worked professionally as an actress and stage manager and had performed in many local productions, and recently directed Triple Threat Theatre’s production of Annie.
Sophia Mackey is a provincially and nationally awarded singer currently working towards her Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance at the University of Toronto, under the tutelage of the renowned Wendy Nielsen. She has been very fortunate to travel to New York City to participate in the Metropolitan Opera Guilds Intensive programme, as well as sing at Lincoln Centre with her U of T choral ensemble. Additionally, she has sung in Italy, Chicago and New Brunswick and in June will be traveling to Opera Nuova in Edmonton. Sophia is additionally an accomplished dance graduate from LDS, and was recently awarded her Associate of the Royal Academy of Dance (ARAD). She is very passionate about theatre and cannot wait to be working at Theatre Arts Camp again this year! She has performed in many T3 productions including; Les Misérables, The Wizard of Oz, Into the Woods, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, Annie and most recently performed in FOUND with Tom Collver.
