At the heart of Alana’s teaching philosophy is a belief in nurturing good humans through the joy of dance. She believes dance is about more than technique, examinations, or performances- dance teaches children how to work hard, persevere when something is difficult, celebrate each other’s successes, step outside their comfort zones, and believe in themselves. She wants every student who walks through the studio doors to feel seen, supported, and valued, and to leave with more than just dance skills. Her greatest joy is watching students grow in confidence and character, and seeing the lessons they learn in the studio carry into every part of their lives.
Alana is also a director and choreographer with Triple Threat Theatre, where she has had the opportunity to bring numerous productions to the Academy Theatre in Lindsay, including Les Misérables, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Oliver!, Matilda, Frozen Jr, and Shrek.
